Hi there,
19 days to go....means 19 days to go until we start the 2011 Cape Epic mountain bike race.
Its been a particularly challenging lead up to the Epic this year. Last year we were offered a 'sponsored' entry into the 2011 Epic. This really motivated us to prepare for the event. However, on the eleventh hour we were informed that our sponsored entry may not be realised. At the beginning of February we were left with hundreds of hours, and thousands of kilometres of training, and no way of showing them off.
We had not budgeted for the entry fee and to come up with it in two weeks seemed impossible. However, this is where things became truly 'epic'. After hearing about our dilemma our friends and associates all pitched in and helped pay for our entry.
We are totally blown away by everyone's generosity. We paid for our entry this last weekend.
We have not only managed to cover the entry fee, services and kit production but also have a substantial amount to give to our charity, The Organ Donor Foundation.
A big thank you to:
Olympic Cycles
Net#work BBDO
RMS Shopfitting
The Sandbar
And Jodie Bailey at Octagon for MTN.
And a special thanks to our mates that helped in their private capacity, you rock.
Cheers
Stuart and Bruce
