Race Report:
What a rough day. Thanks Dr Evil. Today was the first 'real' stage of the Epic. Only 89km but as tough as hell. We ascended a total 2200m. Unfortunately what goes up must come down, and that's what happened to our mate Kevin Evans, he broke his collarbone on a treacherous decent.
The Epic is a strange race, one mans downfall can be another mans luck. Soon after we caught up with David George (Kevin's partner) I punctured. Davie helped fix it and sent me on my way with some of his spares. At about 20km to go Davie caught up with us and 'towed' us in the finish helping us maintain our top 30 position - thanks 'Lighty'.
